It’s finally time to begin.
After ten years, I am rid of the condo. And I am in the process of buying a house.
It’s a beautiful house. And it’s about twice the size of what I’m used to.
And it also has a big, attached, two car garage. With a driveway.
I’m sorry, did I say a driveway?
Let me correct that. This house has THREE driveways.
Yes. Three driveways. In addition to the driveway in front of the garage there is a long one on either side of the house. The one on the garage side is even fully covered by a carport. one is about 15 feet long, the covered one is over 20.
Plenty of room to finally start growing the stable.
While I do love my Golf R, it will soon be time to sell it and begin building up the car stable I’ve always wanted:
The Road Tripper : The first car to acquire. As I averaged over 22k mostly highway miles per year on my Golf R, next up will be something with good practicality, comfort, and great mileage. Likely a new Golf Sportwagen TDI 6MT....because residual values on the used Mark VI Jettas are ridiculous.
The Beater: something old and cool, with towing capability and 4WD. I’m kinda smitten with FJ60 and FJ80 Land Cruisers these days.
The Sports Car:
The backroad burner. The heart starter. Either a 911 (I don’t fit in Caymans) or something with a V8. Or a 4C Spider if by some miracle I can budget it.
The Track Rat
: The last car in the stable to get. A RWD project car that doesn’t necessarily even have to be street legal, as I’ll flatbed it to the track. I’d probably buy an S14 240SX shell and build from there.
Of course if I win the lotto or fall assbackwards into money, then things could change, but this is a multi year plan with a reasonable budget.

I have a 2 car garage and a long driveway. the garage is full of stuff (including motorcycles) so the 5 cars have to share the single-lane driveway.
my wife hates me when she leaves in the morning, the wake up call is “come move your fucking cars”
I am jealous of how much space you have...
